报告摘要：
In a world of constant technological, social, and organizational change, how can management scholars develop research that remains relevant, rigorous, and genuinely innovative? Drawing on his research in organizational behavior, leadership, affect, voice, humor, and creativity, Dr. Xiaoran Hu will explore how management research can respond to change by returning to enduring questions about people, relationships, and organizing. The lecture, titled “Responding to Change with Constancy: Exploring Innovation in Management Research,” will discuss how scholars can identify meaningful research puzzles, build theory from everyday organizational phenomena, and connect micro-level psychological processes with broader organizational outcomes.
Based on his work published in leading journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Annals, Organization Science, and Journal of Business Ethics, Dr. Hu will share insights on studying contemporary workplace issues including leader humor, employee voice, emotional climate, team creativity, and ethical action at work. The talk will encourage researchers to balance novelty with theoretical depth, methodological care, and sensitivity to real organizational life, offering a thoughtful perspective on how innovation in management scholarship can emerge from both changing contexts and persistent human concerns.
报告人简介：
Xiaoran Hu is an Assistant Professor of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research interests include organizational behavior, leadership, workplace humor, employee voice, affect and creativity, and team dynamics. Xiaoran’s work has been published in leading academic journals, including Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Annals, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Current Opinion in Psychology, and Journal of Business Ethics. His research has also been featured in Harvard Business Review. He has received the ASCR Award from the Director of LSE and the Excellence in Education Award, and has consistently been ranked among LSE's “Top 10 Teachers.” Xiaoran also serves as PhD Programme Lead for the Organisational Behaviour Faculty Group and has contributed to academic seminars, recruitment activities, and international forums at LSE and beyond.
